page 3 Publishers Press Welcomes Archie Comics, Documentary Crew Publishers Press welcomed Archie Comics E\ -HVVLFD 0H\HU Publisher Nancy Silberkleit in September to tour our Lebanon Junction facilities as well as fi lm a documentary on the process of printing comics for her foundation, Rise Above Social Issues. The documentary crew spent three days and accumulated several hours of footage, following Publishers Press employees and the comic book printing process from start to fi nish. "It was so fascinating to see how the comic book is made and see the big back story," Silberkleit said. "It's great to bring to light the jobs that are never highlighted for children to learn about." The documentary will highlight the printing of a specifi c Rise Above comic titled "What we can ALL do about bullying," as the foundation addresses social issues such as bullying and discrimination in the lives of young people. Publishers Press also received a mention in the comic book, about our facilities and printing. Publishers Press was honored by the visit and enjoyed the prospect of teaching children about print and paper, as well as assisting our customer in providing positive messaging to our youth. "It's always great to meet someone else with a passion for printing," Mike Mann, Print Specialist for Archie Comics, said. Silberkleit was impressed with not only Publishers Press' professionalism and work ethic, but also by our dedication to providing a great environment for all involved in their printing process. "You are a model to show other companies how they should treat their employees and their customers," Silberkleit said. "Publishers Press really supports women and they really support family issues by highlighting family fi rst." The fi rst school to receive copies of the newly printed comic was Shepherdsville Elementary School where Publishers Press, Silberkleit and fi lm crew visited to pass out the comic and discuss the foundation. "Outside of the company, many of the community's children, tiny little kids, were talking about how their families met at Publishers Press," Silberkleit said.
